At Least I'm Not the Only One

I realize this is an odd thing to be gratified by (and maybe it belongs in my other blog) but I couldn't help but notice that Paul Sullivan, Cubs beat writer for the Trib, referenced the uncanny resemblance between Cubs reliever Carlos Marmol and Democratic presidential nominee (woo hoo!) Barack Obama.

During pretty much every Cubs game I watch with one or both of my brothers, the following conversation ensues.

Me: Is it totally just me, or does Marmol look like Obama's slightly less attractive younger brother?

One or both brothers: *dumbfounded at yet another example of my frequent randomness*

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who watches with my baseball-to-politics dictionary at the ready. According to that volume, Obama hit a home run last night. And Hillary Clinton? Y'know, I really want to like her. But she's making it hard with her refusal to accept a defeat that has been blatantly obvious for several weeks now, and with her attempts to railroad herself into the VP slot. I'm not sure what the baseball equivalent of "bitch crazy" is. Maybe "Jason Marquis"?
