Idol: Revisited

Readers will recall that, last year, I managed to get myself hooked on American Idol. Readers may assume that my present silence on the matter means that I dodged that bullet this year. Readers would be wrong.

Last year, I picked one favorite (Blake) and took that all the way into the finale. Boyfriend then made a fun but mediocre album and later proceeded to take every opportunity for douchebaggery that was afforded him.

Hoping to avoid a similar letdown this year, I've hedged my bets by choosing not one but three favorites: Michael Johns, Jason Castro, David Cook. This increases by threefold my chances of finding an artist who I can place into regular iPod rotation.

Haven't yet made a decision on whether I'll make a return trip to the summer tour or not. I do still have a little bit of shame, you know.

I had a good feeling.

And yes, I now have my tour tickets.

For me, shame-free is the way to be.
