On The Record

After rebuffing calls for a "timetable," John McCain is on the record as saying, with him at the wheel, the Iraq War will end in 2013--not to be confused with bringing all the soliders home. "Most" will be home by then, or so he says.

I'm on the record as liking McCain. I meant that and still do. But at this point, my eyes are stuck near the top of my head from rolling so much.

Wow. Golly gee. How inspiring. We can declare victory 5 years from now, and 10 years after "Mission Accomplished"?

I am neither impressed nor amused. If this was supposed to be a hope- or confidence-inspiring speech, then mission decidedly NOT accomplished. Keep trying, John.
