It's Almost Enough to Make Me Hate Christmas

I'm talking about jewelry commercials. Someone simply must stop the madness. First, there's one on every other second. Second, they are all horribly cheesy and extraordinarily over-dramatic.

Announcer: This Christmas, why not buy your wife/fiancee/girlfriend something nice for a change, you selfish jerk?
Man: Here's jewelry, sweetie. It's the chosen gift of the generous and/or guilty who are also unimaginative and prone to suggestive advertising. Now, please allow me to give it to you in the most contrived way possible.
Woman: Oh, my darling! I am so glad I married/slept with/fell into a relationship of convenience with/allowed myself to get knocked up by you. *swoon* Allow me to make myself available for sex!
Announcer: I'm sayin'! Now get your cheap ass out there and spend!

The only one I can halfway stand is the one with the growing-love pendants. But only because the baby in the middle of that "baby kiss" is so flippin' adorable.

[Now, if your significant other got you jewelry this Christmas, or if you got your significant other jewelry this Christmas, I'm sure it was a heartfelt gesture not at all informed by bad advertising. Don't get offended or nothing.]
