Brett Favre Has Lost His Mind

As much as I loathe the Packers with every fiber of my mortal being (and probably my immortal being as well), I really do respect Brett Favre. I think he probably should have retired while his INTs per game average was still hovering, you know, somewhere below 86. But who am I to tell a living legend what to do?

However, with recent statements that the 2006 Packers might just be the best team he's ever played on, His Royal Favreness is starting to sound like someone who's had his bell rung a few too many times.

Paging Brett Favre! This is reality! Reality paging Brett Favre! When you say that this current team is "the most talented team I’ve been a part of as a whole," or otherwise begin to babble incoherently, that might be about the time when you say, "Thank you very much! You've been a beautiful audience! Good night!" and then exit stage left.

Just a thought.

I was at the Cubs game yesterday (hooray for blowing out the Phillies), and a guy had a big sign that said, "America hates the Packers." He held it up during the 7th inning stretch, and then walked around the park with it, as random people (like me) cheered at him. The sign even made it onto the ESPN recap. Awesome.

I share your hatred of the Packers, and agree that Favre should have taken that exit stage left direction. Instead, we'll just get to hear him whine for a year as the Packers take up residence back in the basement. At least I can incessantly mock all my Packer fan friends.
